Household Age Ranges: Using the Relationships Tab vs. Number Fields

How Household Age Ranges are calculated, and how to switch a network from the Relationships tab to number fields instead.

By default, your network's "Household Age Ranges" are calculated using the Date of Birth entered for each Case, along with any household members added through the [Relationships] tab:

If you plan to enter a Date of Birth for each Case in the database, as well as household members through the [Relationships] tab, the Household Age Ranges will adjust automatically based on that information. And, its sustainable over time, so as household members get older their age ranges adjust automatically.

However, if you'd prefer not to use the [Relationships] tab for this purpose, we can set up number fields instead, such as # of Adults, # of Children, and # of Seniors:

Reach out to the support team if you'd like to switch your network over to this setup.

Either way, you can include these age ranges/household size summary totals on reports if this is selected:

And your report will display these totals:
