If we need client data restored for any reason how far back can we go?
This will depend on the type of restoration and time period the data was present within the system. For example:
If a client entered a new case and deleted it on the same day, we would not be able to restore this.
If a client entered a new case and deleted it two days from now, we could restore this case from a snapshot extraction.
If a client entered a new case and deleted it a month later, we could restore it from a weekly snapshot.
The volatility and mutation of the data will affect what can and cant be restored, but in most cases we are able to restore requested data.
It varies depending on the context. There are two types of recovery. Full network reversal to date of backup. Partial backup on a case by case basis to determine if possible.
What is the retention period for backed up data?
Daily snapshots are retained for 7 days.
Weekly snapshots are retained for a period of 3 months.
Monthly snapshots are retained for a period of 7 years.
What is the backup frequency for our data?
Restorable snapshots of the production database cluster are performed nightly.
This is in addition to weekly and monthly backups of each individual database.
What database design is deployed to store data?
Our system utilizes multi-tenant architecture distributed across multiple database clusters.
