Shelly Parks of the Jacob's and Cushman San Diego Food Bank proposed this idea and we loved it! The development team has created special functionality that will allow the use of a barcode to automatically output and submit a custom signature within the signature capture functionality of CharityTracker/Oasis Insight.

Using the barcode is very simple. Upon being scanned, it will automatically output the encoded message and auto-submit the signature. This will make COVID-19 distributions exceptionally fast and reduce physical contact. The following workflow can take seconds:

  1. Scan the client's ID Card or third party barcode (ex. Driver's License)

  2. Scan the Assistance Barcode(s)

  3. Scan the Confirm Assistance barcode

  4. Scan the Auto-Signature barcode

  5. Done!

The auto-signature barcode is encoded to be flexible and allow you to customize short messages if you'd like to create your own Code 128 barcode replacing "COVID-19" using the following format below:

{[S]COVID-19}

You can download the barcode for "COVID-19" below..

Right click on the image below and click "Save Image As..."

Update Aug 17, 2020:

We have now added a button on the Signature Capture screen that will allow agencies who are not using barcode scanners to still take advantage of this functionality. You will now see a button labeled Insert "COVID-19" Signature that can be clicked to automatically sign with the words "COVID-19".
