This long-anticipated project comes at a time of unprecedented opportunity for collaboration and sharing of data between applications.


As Simon Solutions grows, we are proud to welcome you as partners in the evolution of our CharityTracker (CT) and Oasis Insight (OI) platforms.

What can I do with the API?

In simple terms, our application programming interface (API) will allow CT / OI to "talk" to other software.

This opens a world of possibilities. Programmatic access to your data means integrations of all kinds can be created.

For example, you could pull data from CT / OI into a data warehouse dashboard that combines data from your multiple software platforms for a holistic view of all your organization's data.

Or, you could create cases from a mobile app you use for event registration.

As another example, if you frequently work between CT / OI and another database, the API could be used to reduce double entry.

As with any API, the CT/OI API will be a technology tool that will require the expertise of a programmer, but it opens doors that were previously unavailable. We're excited to see what you build!

Specifications

Our API is developed for the RESTful protocol. Data will be exchanged in JSON format. We also designed our API to maintain the most compatibility with OpenAPI 3.1 specs.

Beta Testing

The beta testing period will last for an undetermined amount of time. We want to put the API through its paces before we make it available for all clients. As a beta tester, you will receive the following:

- An API token/key which provides access to API requests.

We will periodically ask for feedback from beta testers.

Requirements

The beta program requires that you are:

- A Network Administrator

- On the PRO version of CharityTracker or Oasis Insight

Please note: you MUST be a network admin or have a network admin request an API access token on your behalf. Under no circumstances can we issue access tokens to agency admins or agents during the API beta and applications from users without the proper role will be rejected.

Support

The API is not supported in the same way as the rest of CharityTracker and Oasis Insight. Please do not submit tickets, live chat requests, or phone calls to the support team. Instead, please direct all inquiries to apisupport@simonsolutions.com
